Clark stretched, looking up from sleepy eyes to see Lex looking at him.
"Lex, what are you doing still awake?"
"Looking."
"At me sleeping."
"Yes."
"May I ask why?" Clark asked, raising himself to one elbow and draping his free arm around Lex's waist.
"So at the stroke of midnight I can look at the best present ever to come into my life."
"Lex," Clark whispered gently, brushing a kiss unto Lex's lips. He looked at the clock, "Happy Birthday."
"It will be as long as I can unwrap you every year."
"I love you too."
Lex smiled, "I know."
